Salaries Increased for Disability Assessor Roles Across the South East of England

Aspect Healthcare is delighted to announce a significant salary increase across a selection of our Disability Assessor (Functional Assessor) opportunities in the South East region.

Healthcare professionals considering a move into functional assessment can now access enhanced salaries ranging from £41,612 to £43,692 per annum, increased from the previous £39,500. These roles are available across:
  • Dartford
  • Chatham
  • Canterbury
  • Hastings
  • Ashford
  • Tunbridge Wells

This uplift reflects both the value of clinical expertise and the continued demand for experienced healthcare professionals within a Disability Assessment setting.

A Career That Offers Work-Life Balance Without Leaving Healthcare Behind

These hybrid Functional Assessor roles are ideal for Nurses, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists seeking:
  • A genuine Monday–Friday schedule
  • No weekends, bank holidays or on-call
  • Hybrid working (remote and assessment centre-based)
  • A more predictable workload
  • Stability within a permanent position
  • Career growth with opportunities for further progression

Importantly, the role still allows clinicians to utilise and develop their assessment, analysis and communication skills, while maintaining professional registration.

About the Role

As a Functional Assessor, you will work autonomously to assess individuals applying for:
  • Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
  • Work Capability Assessment (WCA) (discipline dependent)

You will conduct assessments via telephone, video, or face-to-face appointments, exploring how a wide range of health conditions impact a person’s daily life. Using your clinical judgement, you will:
  • Interpret medical evidence
  • Conduct structured, respectful assessments
  • Produce detailed, evidence-based reports
  • Support the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) decision-making process

An in-depth, fully paid training programme is provided, ensuring you feel confident and supported in your transition into this role.

What’s on Offer?

In addition to the newly increased salaries (£41,612–£43,692), the benefits package includes:
  • Generous annual leave plus all bank holidays off
  • Hybrid working patterns
  • A structured and supportive training programme
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • A collaborative, professional working environment

These roles offer a refreshing alternative to traditional clinical settings while still making a meaningful difference to individuals navigating complex health challenges.

Who Can Apply?

We are currently seeking:
  • Registered Nurses (NMC)
  • Physiotherapists (HCPC)
  • Occupational Therapists (HCPC)

Applicants must have:
  • A minimum of 1 year’s broad post-registration experience
  • UK clinical experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence working autonomously
  • Good IT competency
